PLACENTIA : School District Seeks Proposals for Budget

Share

Anticipating deep program cuts, principals in the Placentia Unified School District will seek recommendations from school site councils on the district’s 1991-92 budget.

Each site council will be asked to review various programs that have been cut and rank them in importance, in the event that additional funds become available. Parents and teachers will be asked to rank the programs based on the school’s needs.

The rankings from the 28 schools will be passed on to district-level managers, who will report to the school board. The budget is expected to be passed in late June. Last week, district officials presented a preliminary, $92-million budget to the board that included extensive cutbacks and personnel layoffs.
