VENTURA : Schools to Consider Gang Clothing Ban
The Ventura school board will consider banning gang-related clothing on campuses at a meeting tonight.
The dress code would prohibit any apparel, jewelry, accessory, notebook or manner of grooming that indicates gang membership. Any student wearing or carrying gang accessories would be referred to the principal, the policy states.
An option that the board will consider is the banning of all hats, caps and other types of head coverings.
The board meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. at Ventura City Hall, 501 Poli St.
