Don Bosco Gets $400,000
Don Bosco Technical Institute in Rosemead has received more than $400,000 in grants to complete the last phase of a program to modernize its science building. The school received $300,000 from the H. N. and Frances Berger Foundation of Arcadia and $113,400 from the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation of Pasadena. The money will be used to renovate the chemistry and biology labs and to buy equipment and other materials.
Also, the electronics and computer technology department at the school received a $36,000 community college equipment grant from Hewlett-Packard. The school will purchase 16 pieces of electronics equipment to upgrade its course in communications technology.
