HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL PLAYOFFS : 1-A DIVISION

L.A. Baptist d. Capistrano Valley Christian, 15-13, 11-15, 15-7, 15-13--L.A. Baptist advanced to the championship match for the second time in four years with a win at The Master’s College.

After losing a seesaw second game, the Knights (18-2) controlled the third game, then held on to win the fourth after trailing, 13-10. L.A. Baptist came back behind some key blocks by Lucrieta Haynes, who finished with 18 kills and seven blocks.

Sarah Rameson had eight kills, five blocks and 16 digs for the Knights, who will play Brentwood, a winner over Whittier Christian, on Saturday at Cerritos College at 1:30 p.m.
