Drive-By Shooting Wounds Six, Two of Them Seriously

Share

Six people were wounded, two seriously, in a drive-by shooting Sunday night as they talked and drank beer outside a house in an unincorporated area of South Los Angeles, authorities said.

The victims were taken to nearby hospitals with shotgun wounds in what Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said was a gang-related shooting.

Witnesses reported that as a group of people stood outside a house in the 6800 block of Miramonte Boulevard shortly before 10 p.m., a tan Buick with four men inside drove past several times, said Deputy Benita Hinojos.

The car stopped and its occupants exchanged words with the group and identified themselves as members of a gang, Hinojos said. One of the occupants fired several shotgun blasts at the group, hitting three men and three women, Hinojos said.

No suspects were in custody Sunday. Deputies said they were seeking a better description of the car and its occupants.
