$15,000 Reward Offered for Help in Finding Killer
The Los Angeles City Council is offering a $15,000 reward for information that helps police apprehend the killer of a 81-year-old Bulgarian immigrant slain during a robbery attempt in front of his home.
Nachko Paharkov was fatally wounded in the driveway of his Atwater Village residence on Dec. 2 by an assailant in his early 20s, said Los Angeles Police Detective Loren Zimmerman.
The killing occurred as the gunman and an accomplice attempted to rob Paharkov, his wife, Rada, and a family friend, who was wounded in the attack, Zimmerman said. The gunman shot the men after they began yelling for help, then fled without taking any money, Zimmerman said.
