Former Drexel Executive Sentenced to Prison: A former Drexel Burnham Lambert vice president who was found guilty of securities fraud in a case growing out of the 1986 “yuppie five” insider trading scandal was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Ross Frankel, 35, who had worked in Drexel’s arbitrage department, was also fined $10,000 for committing six felonies. He had been convicted in 1990 for insider trading and other securities frauds. Teicher is scheduled to be sentenced next week. The “yuppie five” case involved five Wall Street traders and a lawyer, all under the age of 30, who pleaded guilty to trading on inside information.
