San Diego : Police Investigating Man’s Beating Death
San Diego police are investigating the beating death Wednesday night of an unidentified man near the Memorial Recreation Center at 29th and Marcy streets in Logan Heights.
Witnesses told police they saw a man armed with a metal, pipe-like object hit the victim several times on the head during the 8:30 p.m. attack.
The unidentified man, who was dead when authorities arrived, had massive head injuries, a county medical examiner’s spokesman said.
Police Homicide Lt. John Welter said police are investigating whether the beating is connected with another nearby incident in which a man was struck with a baseball bat.
