Body in Aqueduct Is Identified
Authorities have identified a 31-year-old Lancaster man found dead in an Antelope Valley aqueduct, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said Saturday.
Herbert Guidry’s body was discovered by divers near 60th Street West and Avenue N in Palmdale about 6 p.m. Friday, said L. Shelton, a supervising investigator with the county coroner’s officer.
Sheriff’s deputies launched a search for a missing person two hours before the body was found, after it was learned that a vehicle filled with fishing equipment had been parked near the California Aqueduct for more than a day, Deputy Gil Arce said. Guidry’s death appears to have been an accidental drowning, he said.
