Disservice to Hygienists
I strongly object to the heading of your article titled “Hygienist Faces Licensing Charge.” It is blatantly untrue. This woman was a dental assistant and never attended any institution for a dental hygiene education.
Using the word hygienist does a disservice to the several thousand hygienists in our state who have passed stringent licensure requirements and practice within the guidelines of the Board of Dental Examiners.
Consumers should know that it is the responsibility of dentist employers to check out the credentials of their employees.
