Two masked gunmen forced their way into a home here, shot one of the residents during a struggle and fled with a wallet and $200 in cash, a police official said Sunday.

Brad Eagleston, 25, was shot in the face Saturday night, Lt. Luis Ochoa said.

Eagleston was listed in critical condition at a local hospital with face and head injuries.

The other resident, 46-year-old Thomas Wall, was not injured.

Wall told police that the two robbers wearing nylon stockings over their heads forced their way into the home in the 7800 block of Liberty Avenue about 11:50 p.m. and demanded money.

According to the version of the incident Wall gave to police at the scene, the robbers “rang the doorbell, and when someone opened the door, they physically forced their way inside,” Ochoa said.

“The description of the gunmen by the witness did not fit the usual description of other home invasion robberies,” Ochoa said. “And usually the home invasion robberies are against Asian families.”

Police were unable to find the robbers and have no suspects at this time.
