AIRLINES
Air France, Air Canada in Linkup: Air France and Air Canada sealed a passenger-sharing and cargo-coordination alliance that will boost the number of flights between the two countries and extend each other’s global reach. Under the deal, Air France will expand its service to North America beyond Montreal, Toronto and western Canada. Air Canada, in turn, will be able to do the same in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, using Charles de Gaulle Airport outside Paris as a hub. The linkup takes effect in April. Meanwhile, Air France said it would soon merge completely with Union des Transports Aeriens, the airline it bought in 1990. UTA planes will now fly under the Air France name.
