In the Sea View League:

Corona del Mar 34, University 20--Corona del Mar’s J.R. Walz rushed for a school-record 247 yards in the completion of the Sea Kings’ game with University.

The game was halted by a power failure, with Corona del Mar leading, 26-0, in the third quarter Friday night. Walz’s performance broke the mark of 230 set in 1989 by Brian Lucas.

Corona del Mar improved to 5-2-1, 2-2-1. University is 1-7, 1-4.

In nonleague eight-man football:

Capistrano Valley Christian 49, Redlands Calvary Chapel 0--Capistrano Valley Christian quarterback Matt Watts threw for 25 yards and one touchdown. Bobby Birtwell led the ground attack for the Eagles (2-5, 1-3), rushing for 89 yards and one touchdown in six carries.
