Boeing Engineers Move Closer to Strike: Boeing Co. engineers and technicians have been told by union leaders to be prepared to strike next month. Charles H. Bofferding, executive director of the Seattle Professional Engineering Employees Assn., told union members at a rally Saturday to save their bonuses as a hedge against a walkout. More than 500 people gathered outside the Museum of Flight, near several Boeing plants. Informational picketing is set for Jan. 7, three days after the end of the paid winter vacation that begins Wednesday, Bofferding said. “‘After that, strike is an option, and your team will be talking to you about it in very specific terms,” he said.
