PRO FOOTBALL REPORT / DAILY : RAIDERS : Evans Might Start Against Redskins
Vince Evans will get his first start of the season if Raider quarterback Jay Schroeder is unable to play in Saturday’s season finale in Washington against the Redskins, Raider Coach Art Shell said.
Schroeder suffered a bruised shoulder Sunday against the San Diego Chargers, forcing him to leave the game in the second half.
“We’ll find out (Tuesday),” said Shell when asked about Schroeder’s condition. “There doesn’t seem to be anything torn. He’ll let us know if he can throw.”
Definitely out of Saturday’s game is offensive lineman Steve Wisniewski, who has a broken bone in his right foot. Fellow lineman Greg Skrepenak has a strained right knee; Todd Peat will be move into the starting lineup.
