FOUNTAIN VALLEY : Trustee Is Reelected to State Organization
Coast Community College District Trustee Armando R. Ruiz has been reelected to serve on the board of directors for the California Community College Trustees.
The state organization is an association of community college board members working to provide leadership for the governing community college boards in California.
Trustees develop unified positions on key educational issues and try to monitor and influence decisions affecting California’s community colleges.
First elected to the state board in 1989, Ruiz will serve through May, 1995. Ruiz is also a member of the Assn. of Community College Trustees board, chairing the Pacific Region Minority Affairs Assembly.
Ruiz has been a member of the Coast Community College District board of trustees since 1983. He has served twice as president and four times as vice president.
He is a counselor at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo. Previously, he was counselor at El Camino College, dean of students at Orange High School and vice principal at Santiago Middle School.
