Share

A Garden Grove man was arrested Friday afternoon in connection with the gang-related, drive-by shooting of two teen-agers at a neighborhood intersection earlier in the day, police said.

Neither of the two male victims, ages 17 and 19, was seriously hurt, said Sgt. Dale Farley. Both men suffered gunshot wounds to their arms and drove themselves to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center for treatment, Farley said.

Their names were not released.

Julio Salinas, 22, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder by the Santa Ana Police Department after the shooting, Farley said.

Another suspect is being sought in the shooting, which Farley said was gang-related.

The victims were driving near Taft Street and Trask Avenue about 1:10 p.m. when they were shot, Farley said.

A witness followed the suspects’ car around Santa Ana and contacted police, who stopped Salinas and arrested him without incident.

The witness told police that Salinas dropped off a passenger in Santa Ana before police arrived, Farley said.
