Pedroza Adds Two More Victories to Comeback
After winning with his first two mounts Saturday after being away since an April spill, Martin Pedroza scored two more victories at Hollywood Park Sunday.
Pedroza, who suffered an injured left shoulder when Takeagiantstep dumped him shortly after the start of the first race April 25, missed a chance for five consecutive victories when 23-1 shot Lucian finished last in the 10th race.
Successful with Secret Haze and Big Paz on Saturday, Pedroza slipped through a narrow opening on the rail to win the third with Summer Crossing on Sunday, then came back in the fifth on Road To Romance.
“I’ve never been hurt so long in my career,” Pedroza said. “I’m very, very excited to be back riding.”
