Mother Who Sold Baby to Buy Trailer Gets Jail

CLAY, W. Va. —
A woman who sold her 1-month-old baby boy for $1,400 so she could buy a trailer has been sentenced to a year in jail. Lena Peek, 26, of Bomont, pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of child selling. Magistrate Mike King gave her the maximum term Monday but imposed no fine.
