World IN BRIEF : MACEDONIA : Airplane With 116 Aboard Crashes

An aircraft with 116 people aboard crashed into a snow-covered hillside in southern Macedonia, and police feared many casualties. Fire hampered rescue attempts, and it was not immediately known how many people had escaped. Macedonia radio said the aircraft had come from Geneva.
