Rollie Fingers’ Group Wins Drysdale Event
A fivesome led by former baseball relief ace Rollie Fingers won the Don Drysdale Hall of Fame Invitational golf tournament Saturday at Pelican Hill Golf Club.
Fingers’ group finished 77 under par in the three-round, two-best-ball format tournament. The team of Andy Bathgate, a Hall of Fame hockey player, finished second at 68 under.
Deacon Jones, whose group led after two rounds, finished third at 67 under. Ralph Miller, former Oregon State men’s basketball coach, finished at the same score but lost a tiebreaker.
