SANTA ANA : New Officers Named by School Trustees
The governing board of the Santa Ana Unified School District has named Sal Mendoza as board president and Audrey Yamagata-Noji as vice president.
The board elected the pair last week. Also, Robert W. Balen, clerk of the board, and Tom Chaffee, the board’s newest member, were sworn in to four-year terms.
Mendoza replaces Richard C. Hernandez, who lost his seat on the board in the last election. Mendoza, an insurance broker and graduate of Santa Ana High School, has served on the board since 1987. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Utah. He served as board president in 1991.
Yamagata-Noji, dean of student development for the Rancho Santiago College District, has been a trustee since in 1987. She has a Ph.D. in education from Claremont Graduate School.
