Czech GDP Expected to Shrink for ‘93: Czech Prime Minister Vaclav Klaus revised an earlier forecast of about 1% growth in gross domestic product for 1993 and said the GDP could instead fall as much as 1%, the Wall Street Journal Europe reported. Klaus said on Czech television that the decline would stem from the shock of Czechoslovakia splitting into Czech and Slovak states last January. The Czech GDP fell 2.2% in the first quarter of last year compared to the first quarter of 1992.
