Fullerton’s Ropak Reports Profit Nearly Tripled in ’93 to $3.5 Million

Ropak Corp., the Fullerton maker of plastic packaging and handling products, reported a profit of $3.5 million, or 78 cents a share, for 1993, nearly triple the $1.3 million, or 30 cents a share, for 1992.

Sales rose 11%, to $105.2 million from $94.8 million. For the fourth quarter, net income totaled $1.8 million, or 39 cents a share, which included a gain of $2.5 million from the exchange of a $3.5-million subordinated note issued in connection with an acquisition. That compares with profit of $85,000, or 2 cents a share, recorded in the 1992 fourth quarter.
