CAMARILLO : FBI Investigating Defense Contractor
The FBI said Tuesday that it is investigating a Camarillo defense contractor suspected of misappropriating government funds.
Gary Auer, supervisor in charge of the FBI’s regional office, said agents served a search warrant Feb. 2 at Research Management Consultants Inc. for company documents. No charges have been filed and the investigation is continuing, he said. He declined to elaborate.
Janean Daniels, attorney for Research Management Consultants, said the FBI has also subpoenaed several employees, but they have not yet testified before a federal grand jury in Los Angeles.
Daniels said the warrant asked for some of the company’s financial records and agents seized boxes of documents.
“Obviously, we deny all allegations,” Daniels said.
The company was founded in 1988 and is owned by Raydean Acevedo. The company has contracts with the Point Mugu Naval Air Weapons Station, Daniels said, as well as other government contracts to do environmental and engineering consulting.
