Narcotics detectives have arrested another suspected methamphetamine dealer in a fast-growing chain of cases in Thousand Oaks involving street sales of a drug known as “speed.”

“That’s all we’re hearing about, methamphetamine in T.O.,” said Sgt. Gary Pentis of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. “It’s been just kind of an explosion of information for us concerning people dealing it and using it.”

Acting on tips from neighbors and suspected dealers already under arrest, detectives began watching the house of Geoff Wilson, 34, in the 1000 block of Whitecliff Street in Thousand Oaks, Pentis said.

At about 9 p.m. Wednesday, detectives saw Wilson conducting what they believed was a drug deal in the carport of the Pavillion Apartments, Pentis said. When they moved in, Wilson ran through the complex, jumping over several walls with detectives on his heels. At one point, he threw a bag of methamphetamine into the bushes, Pentis said.

Detectives caught Wilson and searched his home, finding 44 bags of methamphetamine weighing from a 16th to an 8th of an ounce and worth $7,000 total, he said. They also seized $1,000 in cash, a set of scales and packaging materials and written records of drug deals, Pentis said.

Detectives also arrested Malcolm Boots, 36, of Thousand Oaks on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine after he apparently bought some of the drug from Wilson, Pentis said.

When the phone rang during the search, a detective answered posing as a dealer and invited the caller to come over to pick up some of the drug, Pentis said.

Michelle Tracy, 37, of Thousand Oaks was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of methamphetamine when she showed up at the door with dilated pupils, an accelerated pulse rate and other signs of drug use, Pentis said.

All three were booked into the East Valley jail. Boots was released, and Tracy was being held Thursday in lieu of $5,000 bond. No information was available on Wilson’s bail status.
