Weekend TV : Top Topics: Civil War, Domestic Violence
The Civil War is fought on two fronts this weekend, starting with TNT’s presentation of the two-part drama “Gettysburg,” which was released in theaters last year. Martin Sheen, Tom Berenger, Jeff Daniels and Sam Elliott star, Sunday at 5 and 8 p.m. Part 2 airs Monday.
Also, Ken Burns’ chronicle “The Civil War,” a 1990 documentary, begins Sunday at 8 p.m. on KCET-TV Channel 28 and KPBS-TV Channel 15, and at 7 p.m. on KVCR-TV Channel 24.
Domestic violence and the O. J. Simpson case will be the topics on many of the public service programs.
In sports, the United States plays Romania on Sunday in a World Cup soccer game at the Rose Bowl at 1 p.m. on ABC and KMEX-TV.
