First Timers Can Turn to Credit Unions

It seems that each week you receive horror stories regarding mortgage lenders. This was painfully apparent in the stories by your first-time buyers (“First Timers’ Tales,” May 22).

Allow me to offer an alternate: credit unions.

Many credit unions now offer full-service real estate lending programs at extremely reasonable fees. Our rates are competitive with the larger mortgage lenders. And most of all, we offer our members a relationship based on lasting service and respect.
