BankAmerica Corp. has sold its 40% stake in Chile’s Banco Security for $45.5 million to Chilean investment company Security Holdings, a senior Banco Security official said. . . . The U.S. Treasury will raise $1.450 billion in new cash by selling $16.750 billion of one-year bills on Thursday. . . . Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines Inc. said it will furlough 101 pilots in October as part of a companywide plan to slash up to 20% of all jobs at the airline. Delta has about 8,600 pilots and 447 already on furlough. . . . Russian car maker Yelaz (Yelabuga Automobile Factory) is holding very preliminary talks with General Motors Corp. about forming a joint venture to make cars in the Tatarstan auto factory, about 600 miles southeast of Moscow, GM and Yelaz officials said. . . . All Nippon Airways Co. will postpone a planned purchase of Airbus A340 aircraft from Europe’s Airbus Industrie due to sagging revenue, ANA said.
