Reebok Delivering Ultimatum to Asian Suppliers: The Stoughton, Mass.-based athletic wear company said it is calling meetings with manufacturers to tell them they must abide by the human rights policies of Reebok International Ltd. or face losing contracts. The action followed news earlier this month that 800 workers making Reebok shoes in southern China were illegally housed in an unsafe makeshift dormitory. Reebok, after making its own investigation, warned the employer, leading Hong Kong shoemaker Yue Yuen International, that it was in danger of losing its contracts. The workers have since been moved to better housing.
