CAMARILLO : Cover-Up Sought for Adult Magazines
To keep children from being exposed to sexually explicit magazines at convenience stores, the Camarillo Planning Commission has proposed amending city codes to force shopkeepers to cover magazine racks holding the publications.
The commission approved the so-called blinder code on a 4-0 vote Tuesday.
“We think is an appropriate action to take,” Planning Commission Chairman Les Meredith said. “(The code) is a solution to a serious concern in the community.”
The change, which still must be adopted by the City Council, would not affect adult businesses in the city, officials said.
