Riverside Mother Held After 2-Year-Old Is Found Slain
A 20-year-old mother was held for questioning Friday after her 2-year-old daughter was found slain and her infant son was found in critical condition, police reported.
Police Sgt. Bob Hanson said details of the incident--including the manner of death--were being withheld by investigators. Another officer, who asked not to be identified, said the children “were covered with blood . . . and we’re not really sure what happened.”
The department identified the dead child as Tabatha Viramontez and said 8-month-old Thomas Ryan Mora was in critical condition at Riverside Community Hospital.
Carrie Michelle Viramontez was being held for questioning. Police were called to the Viramontez home by neighbors after the woman ran from her apartment screaming, Hanson said.
