World IN BRIEF : BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA : Croats Sign in U.N. Bid to Widen Truce
The United Nations strengthened the cease-fire in Bosnia when Bosnian Croats joined the truce signed two days earlier by Muslims and Serbs in the 33-month-old war. The Muslim-led Bosnian government and its Bosnian Serb foes signed the four-month truce agreement Saturday. The cease-fire was holding across most of Bosnia on Monday. Only Serbs from the Krajina region of Croatia, who have launched attacks in the Bosnian Muslim enclave of Bihac, have yet to sign the cease-fire accord that former President Jimmy Carter helped broker last month.
