SAN GABRIEL: The Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location in the city Friday night. Motorists will be warned that a checkpoint is ahead and will be detained while officers explain the purpose of the checkpoint. Placing checkpoints on streets tends to reduce the number of drunk drivers on the road, police said.
