Pacific Gas & Electric Co. reported an increase in first-quarter earnings and the appointment of President Stanley T. Skinner as chairman of the board.
For the three months ended March 31, the San Francisco-based utility earned $328.7 million, or 73 cents a share, up from $237 million, or 52 cents a share, for the first quarter of 1994, it said.
