NEWPORT BEACH : Children Eligible for Water Polo Program

Youngsters entering third through eighth grades this fall are eligible for Corona del Mar’s spring and summer Junior Water Polo program.

Orange Coast College professor Ted Bandaruk, who coaches the Newport Beach Aquatics Club and the Harbor View Swim Team, will coach the program at Marian Bergeson Aquatic Center at Corona del Mar High School, 2102 Eastbluff Drive, Corona del Mar.

Practices are offered from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through May 2. Thereafter, practices will be from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. Games and additional spring practices will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

Cost of the program is $125 per participant. A membership in the U.S. Water Polo Assn. is also required at a cost of $10 for four months. New players may practice their first day at no charge and, starting June 27, younger players may join the summer session for a reduced rate of $80.
