The streak continues for the Bryan brothers.

The twin doubles team of Mike and Bob Bryan of Camarillo, competing in the boys’ interscholastic doubles division of the 96th Ojai Valley tennis championships, Thursday shut out their opponents in the first two rounds.

The Bryans defeated Adrian Manalang and Wilfredo Nerida of Carson, 6-0, 6-0, in the morning and disposed of Tony Chatfield and Joey Reveteriano of Victor Valley, 6-0, 6-0, in the afternoon to advance to the round of 16.

The Bryans, ranked No. 2 nationally in junior doubles last year, have won 108 consecutive games, 16 sets in a row, at Ojai.

That’s 108 games without a loss.

“The pressure is building,” Bob Bryan said of the remarkable string that has included 49 service breaks. “We wanted 100 (games). My next goal is to lose a game, just so I can hit the ball.”

The twins say they’ve played conservatively while preserving the streak and feel inhibited.

“Once we lose a game, we’ll start playing,” Mike Bryan said.

In girls’ 18-and-under singles, Julia Feldman of Encino was one of three local players to win two matches and reach the round of 16.

Feldman, 1994 City Section singles champion at Taft High, defeated Johanna Lalama of Oxnard, 6-2, 6-0, and Miki Kanemitsu of Monterey Park, 6-3, 6-3.

Feldman, who has jumped into the Southern California top 20 with a new serve-and-volley approach, will face UCLA-bound Brandi Freudenberg of Orange today at 9:30 a.m.

“I played her two or three years ago and I lost in straight sets,” Feldman said. “But I’ve been playing a lot, I’m ready and I want to win.”

Monique Allegre of Camarillo and Shera Wiegler of Bell Canyon advanced to the round of 16 in girls’ 18s. Second-seeded Krissy Hamilton of Agoura Hills withdrew.

In the boys’ interscholastic division, Dylan Mann (Taft), Peter Gutierrez (Thousand Oaks), Nick Varvais (Royal) and Peter Webb (Ventura) reached the round of 16.

In the Pacific 10 Conference singles tournament, Stanford freshman Ania Bleszynski of Thousand Oaks beat Nicole Elliott of Cal, 6-2, 6-4, and Kara Schertzer of Arizona State, 6-1, 6-2.
