The Mission Viejo Nadadores announced Thursday that 13 of their swimmers have accepted college scholarships.

The swimmers, who also compete in county high school swimming, are: Jennifer Connellan (Santa Margarita), UC San Diego; Terry Dougherty (El Toro), Harvard; Ahmad Filsoof (Mission Viejo), California; Preston Hammontree (Mission Viejo), Pittsburgh; Giana Johnson (Laguna Hills), Cal; Mark Kwok (Laguna Hills), USC; Aaron Lehr (Dana Hills), Cincinnati; Teresa Mauck (San Clemente), Nebraska; Cheryl Murphy (Mission Viejo), Cal; Jeannie Povey (Capistrano Valley), Illinois; Christina Rhee (Mission Viejo), Yale; Lindsay Rock (El Toro), UCLA.

Five players from the Mission Viejo Pateadores Soccer Club have signed letters of intent, Matt Kinney, the director of coaching, announced Thursday.

Santa Margarita’s Seth George, a two-time All-CIF, All-Orange County selection and co-MVP of the Sea View League, has signed with UCLA. Joining him on the Bruin roster will be Eagle teammate Matt Eberle and Rancho Cucamonga’s Othanial Gonzalez. Clay Kilbarger, a first-team All-Century league player from Canyon, has verbally committed to UCLA.

Allesio Smith, All-County from Newport Harbor, signed with Cal State Fullerton and Shawn Saunders of Santa Margarita signed with Fresno State, joining former Pateadores Kyle Berger and Adam Novak.

George has also been selected to play in the Puma Cup Invitational all-star soccer tournament June 7-10 in St. Louis. He had 15 goals and 19 assists for Santa Margarita last season.
