Pacific National Bank Names Timothy Carlyle to Its Board

* Timothy D. Carlyle, an attorney, has joined the board of directors of Pacific National Bank in Newport Beach. He has practiced law in Orange County since 1974, specializing in business, finance and real estate law.

* James C. Taylor has been named technical services coordinator for Survivair Inc., a Santa Ana manufacturer of respiratory and life support equipment for industrial and firefighting uses. Taylor, who has been with the company for 11 years, previously was a mechanical designer.

* John Ruck has been appointed vice president and chief value officer for Earle M. Jorgensen Co., a Brea metals distributor. He formerly was vice president for planning. In his new position, Ruck will be responsible for the preparation and coordination of companywide strategic plans.

* Lynn M. Gardner has joined Mission Energy Co., an Irvine subsidiary of Southern California Edison, as vice president of administration. She succeeds Walter L. Halander, who was named vice president and chief administrative officer of Mission Energy’s Asia/Pacific division. Gardner was previously special assistant to John E. Bryson, chairman and chief executive officer of SCEcorp. From 1983 to 1994, she held a variety of positions at Edison, including that of manager of the Huntington Beach and Long Beach generating stations.

* Westcott W. Price III has been selected as one of 10 business leaders appointed to the Business Advisory Committee of the 1995 White House Conference on Aging. Price is vice chairman, chief executive and president of FHP International Corp. in Fountain Valley, a health maintenance organization. The appointment was made by Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Donna Shalala, who also nominated Price to be a delegate to the 1995 White House Conference on Aging this month in Washington.

* David Grant has been named senior vice president of corporate planning and development and general counsel for Regency Health Services Inc., a Tustin operator of specialty health-care facilities. Before joining Regency, Grant was vice president and senior corporate counsel at Walker Methodist Inc., a nonprofit provider of senior housing, health care and related services. He also has held senior management positions at Acquisition Corp. of America and Beverly Enterprises.

* Jim Nicol has joined CareLine Inc., a Santa Ana ambulance services provider, as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Nicol was formerly chief financial officer for Quantum Health Resources Inc., a specialty home-care company. Nicol succeeds Roy Luna, one of the three founders of CareLine, who will be leaving to pursue outside interests after a transition period.
