SIMI VALLEY : Employees Bound in Restaurant Robbery
Two robbers entered a Mexican restaurant in Simi Valley early Monday, tied up the chef and dishwasher and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Simi Valley police said one of the robbers was armed with a pistol. There were no injuries, police said.
The robbery occurred at 7:25 a.m., shortly after the two employees arrived at the restaurant, said Marco Weda, supervisor at Don Cuco Mexican Restaurant in the 3900 block of Cochran Street.
Weda said it was the first time the restaurant had been robbed since it opened at the site in 1988.
Police were investigating the robbery Monday and searching for the suspects, who fled on foot.
