Chairman of N.W. Ayer Advertising Agency Resigns: Steve Dworin has resigned as chairman and chief executive of the New York-based agency, whose clients include AT&T;, Gillette and Pep Boys. Dworin’s resignation follows failed discussions about management acquiring an equity stake in the privately held firm. It also comes after a year in which the agency has failed to win significant new business. Ayer’s president, Mary Lou Quinlan, assumes Dworin’s duties.
