Howard Hughes Corp. to Study Recapitalization: The Las Vegas-based real estate firm and operating arm of the Howard R. Hughes Jr. estate hired Morgan Stanley Realty to “evaluate a broad range of recapitalization alternatives.” The firm said it wants to provide the company’s owners opportunities to diversify their personal investment portfolios and find additional ways to finance development sites. Howard Hughes officials were not available for further comment. In addition to real estate development in southern Nevada, Howard Hughes Corp.’s holdings include the proposed 1,087-acre Playa Vista project north of Los Angeles International Airport.
