Agricultural Exports Booming: U.S. farm exports may top a record $50 billion this fiscal year, Agriculture Undersecretary Gene Moos said. But farm groups argued for continued aggressive use of U.S. export subsidies and market development projects to offset competition from Europe, Canada and Australia. Moos indicated that the Agriculture Department will again raise its sales forecast; an update is due May 31. Exports account for 20 to 25 cents of each dollar in cash receipts to U.S. farmers. Sales for the first half of fiscal 1995, which began last Oct. 1, totaled $28.4 billion, 24% above 1994’s pace.
