GM Reportedly Plans Plant: Pyongyang’s official news agency said General Motors Corp. wants to build an automobile parts factory in North Korea, but a spokesman for the world’s largest auto maker said such reports are premature. GM “has expressed a strong willingness to build an automobile accessory plant in the Rajin-Sonbong free economic and trade zone,” said the Korean Central News Agency, monitored in Tokyo. “We’re in the very early stages of looking at it,” said GM spokesman David Hudgens in Detroit. “It’s very preliminary.” The agency did not say whether North Korea would allow GM to build such a plant.
