Irvine-Based Lantronix Names Three New Vice Presidents

* Armando Escalante has been appointed vice president of international sales for Lantronix, an Irvine computer products company. Escalante formerly held various technical, operations and international sales positions at Canon Computer Systems, Unisys, Epson and Ashton-Tate. Jerry Hall has joined the company as vice president of marketing. Previously, Hall held technical and marketing management positions with Retix, Ungermann-Bass, now known as UB Networks, Tandem, Tymnet and Memorex. In addition, Terry Kirschner has been appointed vice president of operations. He was previously with a California subsidiary of Whessoe PLC and before that, was with Rosemount Inc., a subsidiary of Emerson Electric, and Federal Mogul Corp.

* Scott Homan has been named vice president and division controller for the South Coast division of Greystone Homes in Newport Beach. He was formerly director of finance for the Corona division. Before joining Greystone, Homan was the corporate and commercial real estate division controller for Arnel Development Co.

* Janice Wong has been selected vice president of marketing for WNC & Associates Inc., a Costa Mesa company specializing in tax credit investments. Before joining the company, Wong was executive vice president at Atel Securities Corp.

* John Laskey has resigned as chief financial officer of StarBase Corp., an Irvine software company, to pursue other interests, the company said. Pat Linehan, president and chief operating officer, has assumed Laskey’s responsibilities.

* Humberto Fernandez has been appointed vice president of worldwide clinical and regulatory affairs for ICN Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Costa Mesa. He had been with Shaman Pharmaceuticals in San Francisco. Before that, he had been with ICN for 21 years.

Also at ICN, Jennifer Openshaw was named director of media relations. She previously spent more than four years as press secretary in the California state treasurer’s office and also had been an assistant to the Los Angeles city controller. In addition, Michael Harper has joined ICN as director of corporate human resources. His previous experience includes director of human resources at the Capital Group and group manager of executive and professional recruiting with PepsiCo.

* Sadie A. Herrera has been named vice president of human resources for Emulex Corp., a Costa Mesa manufacturer of computer products. Herrera, who joined the company in 1988, had been senior director of human resources.
