Ventura County Bancorp Reports $524,000 Profit
Ventura County National Bancorp, an Oxnard bank holding company, said its profit for the second quarter that ended June 30 was $524,000 compared to a loss of $763,000 in the second quarter last year. For the six months of 1995, the profit was $797,000 compared to a loss of $877,000 in the same period a year ago.
The bank’s total assets were $250,838 at the end of the second quarter, down slightly from $257,755 at the same time last year.
The bank attributed the turnaround in part to steps taken to reduce its non-performing assets. Non-performing assets in the second quarter were $12.8 million, down about 5% from $13.5 million in the first quarter of this year.
