Obituaries : * Orba Lee Davidson; Retired Peace Officer
Orba Lee Davidson, a retired peace officer for Camarillo State Hospital, died of cancer Sunday at his home in Port Hueneme. He was 79.
Davidson was born Oct. 4, 1915, in Monette, Ark., and came to Ventura County in 1944. He met his wife, Bonnie, while driving trucks for the Navy in Port Hueneme during World War II.
Bonnie Davidson described her husband as a family man who loved his job and exchanging tall tales with his buddies.
“He was a really great guy, and I loved him dearly,” she said.
Bonnie and Orba Davidson would have celebrated their golden anniversary in January.
In addition to Bonnie, Orba Davidson is survived by his daughter, Sharon Davidson of Port Hueneme; his son, Donald Davidson of Ventura; and two grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Guardian Memorial Funeral Directors & Crematory.
