LAGUNA HILLS : City Mulls Plan to Ban Camping
Though this city might have more parks than homeless people, the City Council tonight will consider a camping ban similar to a Santa Ana ordinance aimed at vagrants.
Councilman R. Craig Scott, author of the proposal, said his purpose is to head off any potential conflict.
“It’s not that we have a problem in Laguna Hills,” Scott said. “But should that kind of problem come, we’d like to have an ordinance ready to address it.”
Under the proposal, erecting a tent, using a sleeping bag or storing personal property on public property would be a misdemeanor.
