NEWPORT BEACH : Speakers to Debate Affirmative Action
The Newport Foundation for Study of Major Economic Issues will sponsor a debate Aug. 8 titled “Affirmative Action--Fair or Unfair?”
Speakers at the breakfast session will be Michael Crawford, vice chairman of Stop Quotas and co-author of the anti-affirmative action ballot initiative; and Roland Holmes, a representative of Californians for Economic and Educational Opportunities and co-author of the pro-affirmative action ballot initiative.
The 7:30 a.m. program will include videotaping of a half-hour program for distribution to Orange County public access cable channels.
Tickets are $28, or $15 for students. The session will be at the Balboa Bay Club, 1221 W. Coast Highway, Newport Beach.
