One man was stabbed to death and his brother was critically injured Monday outside a North Hollywood bar where they were attacked by three men, Los Angeles police said.

Juan Manuel Rivas, 26, was killed and his brother Jose Ignacio Rivas, 23, was listed in critical condition Monday following the double stabbing outside the El Del Portivo bar, LAPD Detective Mike Coffey said.

The fight between the brothers, both of Hollywood, and three men reportedly began inside the Lankershim Boulevard bar, police said.

A security guard ordered everyone involved in the brawl out of the bar, but the fight continued on the sidewalk and climaxed in the stabbings, Coffey said. The reason for the argument remained unknown Monday and the three suspects were at large.
